Who can apply?

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • You should have an Honours degree (2:2 or above) in any subject or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • In addition you would need at least three years' relevant postgraduate work or managerial experience.
  • Applicants with other professional qualifications and/or experience will be considered individually.
  • Advanced entry onto the programme would be possible for suitably qualified applicants. In such cases the University’s standard regulations and processes for accreditation of prior learning (APL) will apply.

Offers will be subject to an interview.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent. What will you learn?

Course Details

In this module you will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with ethical and value-based leadership. You will learn how to develop effective stakeholder engagement and talent management strategies and you will learn how to build a high-performance inclusive culture that gets the best from people and enables the delivery of results.

This module will support you to demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with shaping organisational mission, values and strategic direction. It encompasses organisational mission, culture and values, horizon scanning, and responsible decision-making. By completing this module you will have the knowledge and ability to set direction, vision, governance and provide a clear sense of purpose for your area of responsibility.

This module will support you to demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours associated with effective operational management and decision making. The module covers financial governance and accountability, knowledge and data management, risk management and procurement. You will learn how to use data from internal and external sources in order to identify longer-term opportunities and risks.

This module will prepare you for the Strategic Consultancy Project. The module will analyse various models of consultancy and you will explore different stages in the consultancy cycle including: the purpose of consultancy in business contexts, project scoping and contracting, information gathering, analysis and reporting, action planning, implementation, review and exiting. The module introduces ethical and responsible consultancy and research methods for applied projects. You will also evaluate your consultancy competency skills and identify development needs.

This module will examine pertinent issues facing contemporary management and business. Given the global challenges facing business, the module will provide you with the opportunity to explore the changing internal and external contextual landscape and evaluate the impact of contemporary issues on economies, business and management, and suggest critical solutions.

This module provides you with the opportunity to get involved in a project, that is normally within a business of your choice. It is intended to achieve business objectives and suggest new implementation systems based on the client’s business requirements. Moreover, the Business-research project aims to provide solutions to a commissioned business problem. You will be expected to engage in the process of scoping the project, undertake the necessary information gathering, adopting responsible leadership in analysing the information and make recommendations on the basis of your findings. The nature of the task will vary according to the nature of the issue that is needed to be investigated; it may be strategic or operational.

Fees and Finance

This is the tuition fee for 2026/27 entry. Tuition fees for 2027/28 will be published once the information becomes available.

Full-time: £19,690 per year
Part-time: £9,845 per year
