Recognised connections to give you an extra edge when you graduate.
This course is designed for practising teachers and trainers who want to develop their professional skills while continuing to work in the further education, adult education or training sectors. If you are already employed in a recognised teaching or training role and want to advance your practice, this course supports your progression.
You will deepen your understanding of teaching, learning and curriculum development and focus on your own subject specialism. Because much of your learning takes place in your workplace, you will be able to apply new ideas directly to your teaching and reflect on your development as an educator.
On completion, you will be eligible to progress towards Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status through the Society for Education and Training. This is the full professional status for teachers in the lifelong learning sector.
You will also benefit from expert tutors, strong professional networks and access to specialist teaching resources.
This course is delivered at the University of Huddersfield and through the Education and Training Consortium. If you hold a first degree, please see our PGCE Lifelong Learning (Pre-Service).
